PS. Perhaps you'll be glad to know that a number to people stepped up to help the youth director by approaching him personally after the worship service. That's usually how folks do things here.
The congregation was mostly elderly, not too friendly, and when the director of the VBS was asking for 2 or 3 people to help with 5 Grade afterwards because there were so many, no one responded. The preacher talks with prison inmates when he feels the need for wisdom and deep insight. That might explain his lack of Biblical knowledge and experience.
