Horrible experience. My fiance and I had our invitations weighed for our wedding by this post office. When we went to a different post office to mail them, they weighed them at .3oz MORE than what Vicksburg did. How could a scale be so OFF? Portage post office told us to go back to Vicksburg and make them pay for the 21cent difference for each envelope. They did nothing to help us. Now we have two stamps (one beautiful one and one unattractive one). This is very unacceptable. Thank God we went to a different office to mail them, otherwise our guests would have had to pay the difference, how embarrassing would that have been?! UNACCEPTABLE!

Just FYI: The post office in Vicksburg will not give you TAPE . They won't even sell it to you. They offer flat boxes which you have to put together, but no tape? What the..?

A few weeks ago I went into the Vicksburg PO to mail an international letter and really was not treated very nicely by the staff. I figured this was because I am new to town and they didn't recognize me. Is this the welcome a newcomer should receive in a small town?? I was surprised because the rest of Vicksburg is so friendly, accomodating and nice.

But after reading all the other negative reviews on this site now---I am starting to wonder.

I am going back over there again today to mail a card to Canada.

Awful experience, delivered my packages to someone else's home in which getting them retrieved was a hassle. Then, I had something sent to me by certified mail and when I came to pick it up (as directed by them with a note on my door) they had no idea where it was and had no further recommendations as to how I could go about searching for this. They said I could call back another day and see if it turns up and when I appeared irritated the lady then made a comment basically saying it wasn't her problem. Never offered an apology for the inconvenience or in anyway showed any type of professional handling the matter.

We will see if anything has changed.

The world will only get better if we do our part to make it that way.

I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt---(having a bad day, maybe it's really a bummer working for the PO, etc)

Just moved to Vicksburg and missed a package because USPS system didn't have our address in the database yet. Expected this with all the automation it takes to get the mail where it needs to be sun, rain or snow. Melanie at the front had the package ready right away for me and went straight to my new carrier to make a special note we were a new home. Asked her a few questions about the community and where to find things. She was very helpful and all the while had a beautiful smile to go along with it.
